use AI in their work
Among all working Danes

CWAI · REPORT 03 · OCTOBER 2026
AI in Danish workplaces
Many use AI. Far fewer help shape how it changes their work.
01 / FROM USE TO INFLUENCE
AI is becoming part of everyday work. But the opportunity to shape it is far from equally shared. Our new study asks who gets a say in the future of work.

USE ≠ PARTICIPATION
64% of women and 72% of men use AI. But only 26% of women are closely involved in shaping it, compared with 41% of men. Once closely involved, women report real influence about as often as men.
Source: From access to agency, figure 1. All working Danes, n = 2,000.
02 / WHAT OPENS THE DOOR?
Of those offered an AI course, pilot or network, 48% take part in finding where AI can create value. Among those not offered one, it is 12%.
39% of AI users aged 49–66 are closely involved, against 55% of those aged 18–30 and 53% of those aged 31–48. Once involved, older employees often report more influence than the youngest.
59% of those who obtained AI tools themselves are closely involved in at least one area, against 20% of the rest who have, or may have, AI tools at work.
The figures show associations, not cause and effect. Groups and bases are defined in the report.
The question is no longer only who gets access to AI. It is who gets a say in the future we are building with it.

The survey was carried out by Ipsos for Connected Women in AI in October 2026 among 2,000 employed Danes aged 18–66. The figures are unweighted. Closely involved means to a high or very high degree in at least one of three areas: identify, design and decide.

Connected Women in AI (CWAI) is a movement dedicated to ensuring that women play an equal role in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. While AI moves forward, many women are being left behind. Most of the people building and leading in AI still don’t reflect the diversity of the world around us.
